Notification settings

Overview

To configure notification settings in OVIAH, go to Reminders in the Business Operations menu to toggle email and SMS reminders, follow-up emails, and birthday wishes.

Your notifications

As a business owner, you receive notifications for key events in your dashboard and via email. When a client books, cancels, or makes a payment, you get an in-app notification and an email alert. These keep you informed without needing to constantly check your dashboard.

The notification bell in your dashboard sidebar shows unread notifications. Click it to see recent activity.

Client notification settings

Each client profile has a communication preference field: email, SMS, both, or none. This controls what automated messages they receive. You can also toggle email and SMS notifications individually per client.

Respecting these preferences is automatic — OVIAH checks the client's settings before sending any reminder or follow-up.

Automation settings

All automated messaging is configured under Reminders in the Business Operations menu. Here's what you can control:

Email reminders
Toggle on/off. Set timing to 24 hours, 2 hours, or both before the appointment. Available on all plans.
SMS reminders
Toggle on/off. Same timing options as email. Requires Studio Pro or an add-on. Uses your monthly SMS allowance.
Follow-up emails
Sent after an appointment. Choose timing: 24 hours, 48 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks, or 1 month. Great for asking for reviews or prompting rebooking.
Birthday wishes
Automated birthday email to clients with a birthday on file. Studio Pro only.

Books-open notifications

If you use the monthly booking mode (books open on a specific day each month), you can notify subscribers when bookings open. This sends an email blast — and optionally an SMS — to everyone on your subscriber list. Available on Studio Pro.

Your total subscriber count and notification stats are visible in the Reminders settings.

Tip
Keep your SMS allowance in check by being selective about which reminders use text messages. The 2-hour email + SMS combo is the most effective, but sending every notification via SMS can eat through your monthly limit. Check your usage in the dashboard regularly.
